Café Stella, an iconic French bistro nestled in the heart of Silver Lake, Los Angeles, is looking for an experienced and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. Our restaurant is known for its classic French cuisine, intimate ambiance, and dedication to delivering an exceptional dining experience. As a Line Cook at Café Stella, you will be responsible for preparing and executing dishes with precision, working closely with our Head Chef to maintain the high standards of our kitchen. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Café Stella’s recipes and presentation standards. Work efficiently across various stations on the line, including grill, sauté, and pantry. Ensure that dishes are cooked to perfection and plated consistently, maintaining the restaurant’s aesthetic and flavor profiles. Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to develop and execute seasonal menus. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including your workstation and equipment. Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines, ensuring a safe and clean working environment. Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages. Work under pressure during peak service hours to deliver dishes in a timely manner. Participate in daily prep and production tasks to ensure readiness for service. Preparing and executing dishes for breakfast, brunch, and dinner service is a plus, as our menu spans all three meal periods to provide guests with a diverse and high-quality dining experience throughout the day. Communicate effectively with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Line Cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment, preferably with a focus on French cuisine. Strong understanding of various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment. Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure situations with grace and efficiency. Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality dishes. Team player with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Experience working in French restaurants or with French cuisine is highly preferred. Culinary school education is a plus, but not required.
